The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is looking for 12 different “Hometown Heroes.”

Director of Readiness and Development, Marlene Henderson, says the Red Cross is collecting nominations through next Friday. So, if you know someone who has made a difference in this community, Henderson is asking that you come pick up a form at its 7th Street office or fill out a nomination form on its Web site at www/muskingumvalleyredcross.org.

“We are looking for adult heroes. We are looking for military heroes, education heroes, and heroes to pets, ” says Henderson.

Henderson says some of the stories that come in are overwhelming.

“That’s why we have an independent committee come in and do it. We use a matrix system. So, it’s very fair, and believe me, it’s a very hard decision for them to make to pick one person out of each on of these categories, ” says Henderson.

Once the 12 individuals are nominated, they will be recognized on November 13th at 7:30 a.m. in the North Terrace Church of Christ.
