A five car accident closes State Route 36 for almost three hours and sends one woman to the hospital.

It happened this afternoon at the intersection of State Routes 36 and 83 in Coshocton County.

Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Sharrock says Leonard Bragg was driving a truck that had an attached trailer with three cars on it. He says the brakes failed on Bragg’s trailer, causing him to struck four other vehicles, including a car driven by Mariyn West, a car driven by Lisa Oyler, a pick-up truck driven by Brett Lingo, and a semi driven by Clarence Hibbard.

Sharrock says all the vehicles were totaled, minus the semi.

No one was injured in the incident, but Oyler was taken to Coshocton Memorial Hospital as a precaution because of her pregnancy.

Bragg will be charged with failure to assure a cleared distance.
