The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is working with the organization Prevention Works to possibly have the county commissioners implement a curfew.
Children ages 12 or under would be required to be inside from dawn until dusk-unless they have parents’ permission-and teenagers, ages 13-17, would not be allowed outside from midnight to five a.m.
Most villages in the county already have curfews implemented but this would mainly carry-over into the more rural areas. Sheriff Dave Phalen says the idea is to keep kids out of trouble at night and safe in their own homes.
The two entities do plan to take the issue to the commissioners for discussion.
