Licking Valley Advances; Blue Devil Runners Make Splash

Licking Valley advances to play Logan Elm/Maysville winner Saturday at 12pm

High School Track:

Regional Track got underway tonight for Division I and III and local athletes punched their tickets to the regional finals. Zanesville’s Austin Gillinger qualified for the 100 meter finals with a time of 10.87, while James Clark, Ben Kauffman, Gillinger, and Jamal Gladden earned a spot in the finals of the 4×400 meter relay. On the girls side Tiara Wiggins earned a spot in the finals in both hurdle events which will be run on Saturday. Tri-Valley’s Collin Prouty won the discus with a toss of 157 feet 8 inches, while his teammate Kaylee Antill finished second in the shot put with a throw of 43 feet 11 inches.

At the Division III meet Rosecrans Samantha Swackhammer earned a spot in the finals of the 300 meter hurdles with a fourth place finish. On the boys side Crooksville’s Austin Ebbert is heading back to the finals as well in the 200 meter dash.
