The foot and mouth disease that is spreading through Europe has even had an impact close to home at the Wilds. Although there has not been a case reported in the U.S since 1929, the Wilds is making sure to protect its' animals. The disease affects mostly livestock and is spread through blisters on the mouth and in between the feet. Most times the animal does not die, but it does cause severe suffering and, it's very contagious. The Wilds will open for its eighth season on May first.
