More help may be on the way for Seniors in Muskingum County. Commissioners are working with the Muskingum County Senior Center on a grant to help feed more seniors in the area. Muskingum County Commissioners finished the application process by signing the documents today, which if awarded, will bring 50 more home delivered meals to Seniors in the area every day. The grant is through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The amount is for $50,000, payable for one year. On another issue… the Commissioners reviewed an audit of a grant for the Muskingum County Department of Corrections. The audit discovered that the Department had made payments and disbursements with grant money after grant years had ended. Also, that the Department underspent some of the grant money. The audit shows the reconciliation amount is $15,059. The county is working with the Corrections Department to get that amount paid to the Ohio State Treasurer.
