US Congressman Sherrod Brown called on the President and Vice-President to keep their promise and help out the steel industry. WHIZ news had a chance to talk with the representative as he passed through Zanesville today. Sherrod feels bad trade agreements are to blame for lost jobs and company closing in the steel industry. Sherrod feels the promise Cheney made needs to be fulfilled immediately. Brown said members of Congress and also from the steel industry have met with the President, but talks have gone nowhere. He was on his way to meet with steelworkers in Martin’s Ferry, OH. Locally, there are two steel plants – AK steel in Zanesville and Coshocton.
