Muskingum County Common Pleas Court sentenced Robert Davis Jr. of Zanesville today. Davis received a sentence of 7 years after pleading guilty to a felonious assault charge against Burkey Jackson Jr. of Zanesville. Originally Davis was charged with Jackson’s death after a bar fight back in October at McCarty’s Bar in Zanesville. But Muskingum County Prosecutors dropped murder and manslaughter charges when final evidence from autopsy reports showed Jackson died of a brain aneurysm and not from any physical activity inflicted by Davis.
