Rape and Shooting in Perry County

At two Monday afternoon, a brutal assault occurred Linda Hogue of Corning was raped at gunpoint fought back and shot her attacker 31-year-old Michael Wright of Roseville. Witnesses who were around the Perry County Sheriff’s Office Monday afternoon said they heard a horn blaring and saw a woman frantically driving her pick-up truck to the Sheriff's Office. The woman visibly shaken up and dressed in her bra and underwear, she was crying out I shot him, I shot him. According to the Sheriff’s office they then went to the Perry State Forest where they found Wright suffering from gun shot wounds. Hogue says in a statement to the Sheriff’s office that while she was being sexually assaulted she grabbed the rapists gun and shot him six times. Wright was treated at the scene by New Lexington squad members and was MedFlighted to Grant Medical Center. The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the incident.
