As students in Morgan County head back to school for a new year and a new grade, many will be looking forward to new buildings. Construction crews are working in full force to finish three elementary schools and one junior high school for the district. The new buildings replace seven elementary schools that were considered to be unsafe and rundown. The new schools will have music rooms, science labs and computer labs. The district passed a levy in 1999 to build the new schools. The junior high will be ready in September, the elementary schools will be ready at Christmas break. And with the new school buildings, comes a new attendance map for the district. This Thursday, there will be a school board meeting at 7:00 at Morgan High School to discuss the new attendance maps. New school superintendent, Scott Davis, will be at the meeting.
