Fall high school sports are underway, Monday August 6th started the first official day of practice. And with the grueling workouts comes the change for injury. For any athlete one of the most serious and season ending is a torn ACL ligament. When an athlete blows their knee, it swells and becomes stiff and sore. Once some of the motion returns, surgery is usually necessary, and the diagnosis is good. Dr. Brad Brautigan, and orthopedic surgeon said that football season is the busiest time. Last year, there was only a handful of high school ACL injuries. But he opens his office on Saturday just to deal with the amount of injures suffered on Friday nights.
