Land that was thought to have lost all of its value after being strip-mined has been turned into a mountain bike trail with the help of 180 volunteers during the past year in Morgan County. Equipped with a few basic tools, walkie-talkies and first-aid supplies, volunteers from the Central Ohio Mountain Bike Organization, or combo, continue to work on the trail. It's was opened to the public on Sunday with a race to raise funds for tools to help continue building the trail. Fallen Trees, rocks and vegetation have proved treacherous for trailblazers, but they believe those elements should appeal to racers. The four mile trail is one of the few in Ohio aimed at intermediate to advanced riders.
