The basket giant Longaberger has reassessed their layoff plan and it’s not as severe as once anticipated. In July the company planned to cut 800 jobs but now that number has been reduced to 5 hundred. Officials say that their annual B Convention helped to increase sales and save jobs. In addition to the 500 layoff’s more than 232 workers will be reassigned to other full-time positions in manufacturing. There are also 40 administrative and mid-management positions that will be eliminated. These jobs deal with information technology, construction and development. All the layoffs will be completed by October 5th.
