Since the terrorist attacks that occurred last month, and now with the country’s retaliation against terrorists, organizations and businesses everywhere have been taking extra measures of precaution to keep people safe. The question now is the schools response to the issue of terrorism. Don Green, Superintendent of Tri-Valley Schools says that it will be business as usual at the schools. They have heightened awareness of their security issues but they intend to have classes as usual for students. He says that education is their business and they are going to continue to provide that to all students. The schools want to assure the community that they are aware of the security issues. The school district has not altered their plans to continue education, they do have procedures in place which involve a buddy system of teachers, a district wide response plan, building specific response plan, and in coordination with the county schools, the sheriff’s department and emergency responses.
