Asking for money is never a difficult task when its purpose is to help those in need. At the County Commissioners Office today, a grant was presented by the Ohio Department for the amount of four hundred thousand dollars. It requires a one to two match of local funding. The Department was able to come up with two hundred dollars of it to match the grant. The grant will be used for homeless prevention, project based rental assistance, emergency home repair and supportive services for the residents of Muskingum County. One of the principles that helped put the grant together was the OMEGA organization in Cambridge. The Ohio Department of Development extends great thanks to Lana Watkins of OMEGA who put in a lot of time and effort to get the grant approved.
