An extraordinary event occurred when a surprise visitor stopped in at the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital. It happened around 10 this morning when an uninvited guest crashed through emergency room windows and came into the building near security doors. A six point buck decided to break through the glass doors because it saw its reflection. Luckily with the remodeling of the ER at Good Sam, fire doors were already in place for safety reasons. The doors prevented the deer from moving beyond a ten-foot space. There was never any danger to the patients or to the staff there, and security arrived right away. The deer unfortunately died at the scene due to head wounds from the window glass. This is typical type action of deer at this time of year, so local officials warn people and encourage them to watch out for deer even in residential areas because they are on the move.
