Restoring some parts of the community of Zanesville has been an ongoing project for some time now. A CRA announcement was made today by the Community Development Office in Zanesville that will affect the Putnam Historical District and the residences of that area. A community reinvestment area attempts to revitalize an area by providing tax exemptions for eligible improvements to property whether it be residential or commercial. Because of this project residential property owners can make improvements in their property and receive a tax break for it. A meeting for the community to participate in will be held Thursday November 1st at 7 pm at the Muskingum County Community Foundation. Anita Adams, the county auditor has collaborated with the Community Development Office on this project and will also be present at the meeting to discuss the process of applications, accessing property values and taxes.
