Combining holiday cheer with her strong patriotic spirit, one local woman wanted to support her son serving overseas and at the same time remember the importance of the upcoming season. Jane Ellis’ son Jack Wallace has served in a military police unit for 18 years and has been overseas serving the country since September 20th. Mrs. Ellis has decorated a miniature tree for her son’s return with red white and blue bulbs, wooden stars and American flags. It took her one day to complete and she is also putting together an album of pictures, letters and emails for him. Mrs. Ellis also helped the local VFW and Lady’s Auxiliary who collaborated on a project to send telephone cards to some of the soldiers. 31 phone cards were sent and have been received by the military men and women overseas. Jack Wallace was a graduate of Zanesville High School. He is married and has four children.
