He provides an important message for young students and today he was at Roseville Elementary presenting his well-known safety program. Safety Pup and his sidekick Sounder were there with the help of The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office. They were there to reinforce pedestrian safety and also not talking to strangers. Sargent Dan Marks from the Sheriff’s Office was also on hand as well to present the topics. Safety Pup first appeared only in printed materials, but has now become so popular that he has his own program. The National Child Safety Council’s main focus is printed materials, however with Safety Pup as the council’s mascot, bringing him to life for the students is beneficial. Safety Pup gives presentations all over the state of Ohio and even in surrounding states. He has traveled to Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Michigan, and even New York to present his safety message to school children.
