The Ohio AFL-CIO is trying to get legislators to pass a bill that will benefit Ohioans that do not have health coverage or are simply underinsured. The "Ohio Prescription Drug Fair Pricing Act" was formulated by the organization after seeing a similar bill passed in the state of Maine. The bill, which is now a pending legislation in the Ohio General Assembly", could save Ohioans a considerable amount of money on prescription drugs. Since the bill is still pending in both houses of the legislature, the AFL-CIO has decided to form a statewide coalition to push the bill through. If passed, the proposal would cut the price of prescription drugs by an estimated 30 to 60 percent.
