With big plans for the future on the horizon, the disabled community center is receiving some new additions for the holidays. A new executive director has been named to the Alfred Carr Center and some in house improvements are being made as well to make room for the growing numbers of clients. As the new executive director, Sonya Mawhorter wants to collaborate with the center board as well as the staff and community to upgrade services at the center. With the remodeling that is currently underway, those involved with the center have a positive outlook on the changes that are taking place. Expansion construction should be completed by the end of the calendar year and hopes are that that things will be up and running soon thereafter. The Carr Center currently serves twenty five to thirty disabled children and adults in Muskingum County each day.
