A morgan county common pleas court returns a conviction against a Crooksville man. 37-year old Donald Searles was convicted on 10 counts of rape against a 15-year-old girl. Searles was found guilty of four counts of rape and sexual battery andone count each of gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The incidents occured from November 28th 1999 to August 2000 and again this past June. Morgan County Prosecutor Richard Welch says Searles was found by the court to be a violent sexual predator, which makes a sentencing of life in prison with no chance of parole. Judge Dan Favreau ordered a pre-sentencing investigation in the case.
