Ten libraries in the southeastern ohio area have developed a project to help preserve Muskingum County's history. The Muskingum County Library System received a 92-thousand dollar grant to start the "Digital Shoebox Project". The Digital Shoebox will bring together historical treasures such as old photos, documents, maps and county histories of the region in a searchable online scrapbook. Muskingum County Library System is encouraging local historical genealogical societies, newspapers, civic organizations, and individuals with historical photos or documents to contact the library at 453-0391 extension 31. You will be able to view the digitalized photos at www.solorls.org.
