The New Lexington police and fire departments are investigating a fatal fire in Perry county. Police Chief Jeffrey Newlon says it happened Monday night at 210 Second street. Newlon says police recieved a 9-1-1 call about a fire. New Lexington firemen were able to rescue 59-year-old Lee Ann Harris, but she died later from injuries she sustained in the blaze. The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's Office, Perry County Fire Task Force and the New Lexington police department. Chief Newlon says preliminary results indicate the cause of the fire to be accidential. Harris was the only person home at the time of the blaze.
