A night on the town ends in a run in with the law for two West Muskingum High School students. Around 11:30PM Friday evening, the Zanesville Police Department received a call for a traffic accident located at the corner of Hughes Street and Sharon Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discoverd that a car driven by a 17-year old high school student, who's name is not being released, was traveling at a high speed and failed to negotiate the left turn on to Hughes Street. The car then landed on an unoccupied parked vehicle located at 928 Sharon Avenue. Also it seems that alcohol was involved. The 17-year old driver is in the city jail awaiting to be formally charged on Tuesday with driving under the influence, failure to control, and willful disregard for public saftey. His 18-year old passenger, who's name is also being withheld, was released and charged with underage consumption of alcohol. No one was injured.
