A highly contagious and sometimes deadly disease has popped up in our area. And an unusually high number of cases have been reported in Muskingum County. The health department has confirmed that 8 people have been diagnosed with Pertussis more commonly known as whopping cough. The cases were reported by a private doctor’s office, and those infected are being treated. To prevent this and other childhood diseases, immunization shots are vital. The health department is holding a free child immunization clinic this Saturday March 9th, from 9 until 2 at the Colony Square Mall.
