Gas prices in Columbus and nationwide have begun climbing again, particularly over the past two weeks, according to the American Automobile Association’s latest price-checking survey. The AAA’s latest fuel gauge report said the average price of self serve regular gasoline is $1.22 a gallon, up 10 cents from the $1.12 a gallon seen at this point last month. The increase in prices at the pump follows a recent climb in crude oil prices and futures as traders react to the slew of encouraging reports over the past month about the health of the U.S. economy. A rebound from recession in the world’s largest economy naturally would lead to higher demand for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
