The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Frazeysburg Police Department is continuing to investigate the double stabbing that occurred in Frazeysburg Saturday. On Monday the suspect, 21-year-old David Wion was formally charged. He faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of felony fleeing an officer with a gun specification. According to Detective Steve Welker of the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, the victims, 22-year-old Tonya Burnell and 24-year-old Lloyd Martin suffered stab wounds after being attacked outside their apartment building around noon on Saturday. On Monday they were listed in fair condition at Good Samaritan Hospital. Detectives say the attacker was 21-year-old David Wion, Burnell’s cousin who lived in the same apartment complex. Wion fled the scene after the incident and was later apprehended by local law enforcement in Zanesville. Detective Casey Jones of the Sheriff’s Office met with the Prosecutor’s Office earlier today and formal charges against Wion are being finalized. The two victims are being released from Intensive Care today and are recovering from surgery at Good Sam.
