Letter carriers for the United States Post Office are trying to stamp out hunger with their annual food drive.
Each year nationwide: the post office gives residents the chance to participate in the drive. This Thursday and Friday, residents will receive information in their mail about donating food.
Letter carriers will be picking up non-perishable food items as they deliver the day's mail.
Last year, as a whole, the Post Office collected more than 71-million tons of food.
