A prosecutor says a man shot four times in the neck and left to die was a chief witness in an arson case.
Bicyclists discovered the body of Benjamin Thompson on Monday night along a rural road in the Licking County village of Alexandria.
Coshocton County Prosecutor Bob Batchelor says Thompson was going to testify against at least four suspects in a March 3 arson case in Coshocton.
Authorities are still trying to determine why someone carefully placed two pennies on Thompson's body. An Alexandria police officer says one was on each shoulder, one tails up, the other heads up.
