The Perry county airport is going to be getting some federal funding. Congressman Bob Ney says he's secured 108-thousand dollars for the facility. Ney says the funding is desperately needed because the runway lighting at the airport is old and rapidly deteriorating. Ney says this project will replace the current lighting system and provide reliable runway edge lights. The congressman says the funding came from the "Air-21" bill which passed in March of 2000 and provides money for airport construction projects.
