A standoff on interstate-71 has ended. Franklin county sheriff's detective Steve Martin says a former Columbus police officer who held dozens of state troopers at bay for several hours has been shot and wounded. Reports say a man was loaded into an ambulance after the shooting. A man was spotted jumping out of the S-U-V where he was holed up. He jumped the guard rail and ran into a wooded area next to the highway. Authorities have identified the man as Hermando Harton. Harton's wife, 27-year-old Elizabeth Harton, was found dead in the couple's home today. Franklin county sheriff's officials says she was killed. A police official says Hermando Harton was fired from the force a few weeks ago but the official did not know why.
