A major power outage hit Zanesville just before 8:30 this morning knocking out service to customers on the north, south and east ends of town. American Electric Power's Carmen Prati says a squirrel got into a north Zanesville sub-station and casued the shortage. That also caused sub-stations in the south and east end of town to also go down. In all, around 24-hundred customers lost service. Power was restored around 10:00 this morning.
