Have you ever gotten a telephone bill and not understood where some of the costs came from? Often people don't question their phone companies about these costs, but they should. The Ohio Consumers' Counsel works as a residential utility advocate, answering questions and concerns pertaining to bills and payments. Thursday afternoon the Public Employees Retirement Incorporation, Chapter 47 met at Shoney's Restaurant on Underwood Avenue to learn about telephone bills and other related problems. The PERI group was also educated about telephone scams and recent changes in Ohio's telephone industry. The Consumers' Counsel not only focuses on utility issues facing telephones. The agency also covers natural gas and eletric utility questions. For information, call the Ohio Consumers' Counsel at : 1-877-PICKOCC (742-5622) or check out their website at: www.pickocc.org.
