The drought in the southeastern Ohio area has taken its toll on the water levels in Zanesville's reservoirs. Last week, the city asked residents and businesses of Zanesville to conserve water for the second time this year. Officials hoped that the voluntary advisory would help restore water levels to normal. To date, the voluntary advisory put in place on Thursday has not significantly increased the water levels in the storage tanks. The city will continue the voluntary advisory through Wednesday. If water levels have not increased by then, the city will impose a mandatory conservation effort.
