Legal troubles for the Cambridge School Board of Education: they are being sued for discrimination. According to Superintendent Susan Tucker, she has recieved a copy of a lawsuit that indicates Paula Hornbeck is claiming the district discriminated against her when she sought employment as an elementary school teacher. The suit alleges Hornbeck was capable of filling the position when they became open in 1997 through 2000, but each time she applied the suit alleges she was not given the job. Allegations are that Hornbeck was not given the job due to her obesity. Hornbeck also states that the teachers that were hired for the positions were younger and thinner.
