Students in the Talented and Gifted Class at West Muskingum Middle School wanted to honor the talented and gifted men and women who fought for our country in foreign wars, so they invited area veterans to an early Veterans Day program. World War II Veteran James Feerick talked about bombing missions and being a Prisoner of War for two years. Feerick says the most important lesson children learned today was to learn about the importance of freedom. Seventh grade TAG members Sabrina Shuey and Carson West say it was exciting to learn about history from people who fought in historical wars. Both students say this was one history lesson they will never forget. Veterans Day is Nov. 11.
