The Coshocton county sheriff’s department is investigating an attempted suicide in its jail. Sheriff Tim Rogers sys Thursday night around 7:30 deputy Debbi Miller was conducting a security check in the county jail. She discovered an 18-year-old male inmate hanging by a bed sheet from the bars in the four man receiving area. Deputies untied the bed sheets and removed the inmate from the bars. Investigators say he never lost consciousness and was breathing on his own. The inmate was treated and released from Coshocton Memorial Hospital. He remains under suicide watch and will receive a mental health evaluation. The name of the inmate was not released.
