Fatal Accident Claims Sheridan High School Football Player

The Lancaster Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal Sunday morning accident that claimed the life of an area teenager. Troopers say the two vehicle crash happened on state route 13, north of county road 26 in Perry county. !8-year-old Dustin Snider of Somerset died as a result of the accident. Troopers say he was driving south on state route 13, went left of center and struck a pick-up truck head-on. Snider, who was a Sheridan high school varsity football player, was transported by Med-flight to Ohio State University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the pick-up truck and five passengers were taken to Licking Memorial hospital for treatment. The accident, which happened around 1:30 Sunday morning, remains under investigation.
