The new Z-Bus transportation facility is scheduled to open today in Zanesville. In 1999, South East Area Transit and its board of trustees had a vision to built a transportation terminal that would serve a multitude of transportation needs in Zanesville. In the year 2000 the vision became a reality when South East Area Transit bought property on Main street in downtown Zanesville. The piece of land was turned into a 4196 square foot transportation center. The construction was funded by at 1.2 million dollar capital grant from the Ohio Department Of Transportation and a matching grant of 50-thousand dollars from the City of Zanesville. The facility will house Z-Bus, Greyhound Lines and a local Taxi service. The building will also serve as offices for Z-Bus. The grand opening is set for 3:00 this afternoon.
