A small town in Perry County has a chilling claim to fame that has finally put them on the map. Milligan, a suburb if Mcluney which is a small suburb of Crooksville, has the distinction of recording the lowest temperature ever in the state of Ohio. Recording an unbelievable frigid temerature of 39 degrees below zero on February 10, 1899, the tiny town has been awarded a marker by the Ohio Historical Society and the Ohio Bicentennial Commission. The marker will be dedicate on February 10, 2003 at Crooksville High School.
