Law enforcement officials statewide say that they're having trouble with sex offenders who fail to register their address as required by law. In Muskingum County, The Sheriff's Office is currently dealing with 65-individuals who have been labled sex offenders or sexual predators. Although making sure that these individuals comply with the law is a big undertaking, Sheriff Stephenson says that it is something that has to be done. Sexual offenders must register with the Sheriff's Office annually and sexual predators have to check in every 90 days. Out of the 65 individuals who have moved into the Muskingum County area the Sheriff's Department only has 2 people who have failed to comply. One of the individuals who has failed to register with the Sheriff's Office is currently in jail in Polk County, Florida. As for the other person, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
