Driving is such a staple in our society...and by now we've all seen the high gas prices at the pumps. With this in mind, here are some tips on how to conserve the costly gas that you pay an arm and a leg for. Bill Porter, Manager of the Zanesville and Cambridge AAA offices, suggests one-stop shopping, using the proper grade of gasoline for your car, and making sure your vehicle is maintained. Porter also suggests carpooling and monitoring your speed. He says traveling in the city eats up gas more than driving on a highway does. This is due to the amount of acceleration and breaking a driver does while in the city. Consistent speeds conserve gas. Finally, Porter asks us all to be patient with the gas companies.
