Morgan county officials are preparing for the possibility of bad weather conditions. This week’s snowfall left over 20 inches of snow. Crews are continuing to clean the streets. In the meantime, rain continues to fall as the Muskingum River fills to its highest level. Keith Spare, Morgan County’s public information officer, says they are monitoring the situation, but for now it’s just a waiting game. Spare says if the river overflows they would be prepared. Shelters will be available, if needed. Morgan County’s last big flood was on June 27th 1998. It was so bad that the bridge had to be closed and several buildings were evacuated.
