Ohio's First Lady gives a salute to local residents who volunteer their time for a good cause. Eighteen local non-profit organizations met at the Zanesville Country Club to hear a speech by Hope Taft. In the speech she commended volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the community. Over the past 25 years. Taft has volunteered and served on boards of more than two dozen arts, cultural, civic, and service organizations. Taft has big plans for the upcoming year. And because of her passion on volunteerism she has been appointed by President Bush to the Presidnetial Council and Service and Civil Participation Committee. Taft is co-chair of Ohio's Make A Difference Day. She is encouraging all communities to take part in this event, which is Saturday, October 26th.
