Ohioans can expect to pay more at the pumps. The House approved increases to the gas tax and vehicle fees today. The transportation Budget Bill now goes to the Senate for its consideration. And senators aren’t raising any strong objections to the plan. A house committee voted to raise the state’s 22-cent gas tax by six cents a gallon over three years and increase motor vehicle fees by eight to ten dollars. The additional gas tax is expected to raise six billion dollars for road maintenance and construction and the additional motor vehicle fees would fund the state highway patrol.
