It was a day of clean up in parts of Muskingum County after a big storm targeted some homes on Easter night.
Homes in the Richvale and Dresden Road areas suffered damage. The Yester family’s home on Richvale Road was one of the homes that took a severe beating by the high winds. Dan Yester Jr. says parts of their roof and chimney were destroyed. The family says they were startled by the storm. Although their home was not completely destroyed, the fire department says the roof could cave in at any time. Now, the family is working to quickly remove their belongings from the premises.
Meanwhile, the Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is providing lodging for the family.
Another family that lives next to the Yester’s was not that fortunate. Mark Bunting and his daughter were not home at the time of the storm. High winds from the storm tossed their mobile home from its foundation and knocked it into a tree. Everything in the home was completely destroyed. Mark’s father, John Bunting, who lives on and owns the property where the mobile home was on, also received major damage to his home, silos and barns. The family is waiting to here from their insurance company on damage estimates.
