The Muskingum County Community Foundation today announced that it has awarded over 54-thousand dollars in grants to area organizations. Executive Director David Mitzel says ten different groups benefitted from the spring grant process. Included in that group is a 10-thousand dollar grant to the Zanesville Rotary Club to create a master plan to develop the river, downtown and Putnam. The Nelson T. Gant Foundation received
five-thousdand dollars for the historic preservation of the Nelson T.Gant House. And, the Muskingum County Veterans Council received just under five-thousand dollars for the construction of the World War II and Korean War Memorial. The Foundation is in its 18th year with more than eleven-million dollars in assets. So far the foundation has handed out over four-million dollars in grants to local charities.
