Celebrities from Muskingum County waited tables at Applebees to help raise funds for “Operation Feed.” All tips made will benefit the United Way program. Jack McClelland, executive director of Eastside Community Ministry, says raising funds is a significant part of operation feed. Organizers hope to raise 72-tons of food this year, which will supply seventeen food pantries and four hot meal programs for several months. Operation Feed will continue through the month of May. So if you haven’t had a chance to help out you still can because this Saturday is “Letter Carrier Day” and residents are encouraged to put out bags of food for the mailman to pick up.
