A warning to parents about summer drug abuse. According to the White House National Drug Control Policy Office, more teens try marijuana for the first time in June and July than at any other time of the year. They remind that unsupervised teenagers also experiment with alcohol and cigarettes more in the summer months. They offer some tips to parents such as:
Set rules; let your kids know marijuana use is unacceptable.
Also, understand the dangers of this drug so you can talk to your kids about them.
Make sure you know where your teen is and whom they are with.
Get to know your teen’s friends and their friend’s parents.
